“I had both negative and positive reactions to the news earlier this week that an American defense contractor (Engility Holdings Inc.) whose subsidiary was accused of conspiring to torture detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq has paid $5.28m to 71 former inmates who had been abused and humiliated while being held there between 2003 and 2007.”
